loose-leaf green tea

Grown in the Dabbie Mountains, Anhui province, this hand-plucked artisan tea produces a delicate, light flavour with a sweet lingering aftertaste.  It is the only type of green tea made up of no bud or stem – just one leaf – the third or fourth leaf down from the bud.

Harvested in mid Spring, the mature leaves are fired and flattened with bamboo brooms, to produce the recognizable ‘melon seed’ shaped leaves.
