Oolong Tea

Iron Goddess (Tieguanyin)

Tieguanyin is one of China’s famous teas having once been an Imperial Tribute Tea.  In the past Tribute teas were only for the consumption of Chinese emperors.  Since the fall of the last emperor in 1912, this tea has become available for all to enjoy!

Our Iron Goddess (Tieguanyin) comes from Anxi county in Fujian Provence, a region considered to be the birthplace of this style of oolong.  Harvested in the spring, it is hand-plucked, lightly oxidised then delicately rolled into semi-ball shapes.  It possesses the stone fruit aroma of a fine oolong with a sweet lingering aftertaste. The robust oversized green leaves make for multiple deep infusions with lasting flavour.
